Having served as a Second Officer with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Alex gained extensive marine knowledge and experience before joining his family’s long-established business.
Since taking over as Managing Director in 2005, he has successfully navigated a modernisation & growth process. Alex has overseen considerable expansion with the opening of new branches and acquiring new businesses to offer a complete supply chain for the shipping industry.
As the original co-founder Hutton’s Medical, when it was known as Marine & Offshore Medical Supplies, John has an extensive track record in drug classification and is an expert adviser on the latest marine medical legislation.
He helps supply pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, consumables and essential drugs to many of the world’s leading ship owners and management companies. He also works closely with our clients to provide inspection, stock replenishment and certification services to ensure the legal requirement of their medical lockers.
Working in the marine industry is in Jamie's blood and he can boast almost two decades of experience in ship supply after entering the sector in 2007, following in the footsteps of his late Grandfather, Hugh Kerr, a well-known face in Milford Haven Docks, when the Welsh port was thriving with fishing trawlers.
Since joining our Pembrokeshire branch, Jamie has successfully taken on the role of UK Sales Manager, overseeing operations at our head office, where he works closely with Alex Taylor on growing the business. He also has extensive mechanical knowledge after previously working as a technician in the automotive industry.
